Acupuncture Therapy

The center of acupuncture therapy, dating back some 2500 years, is China. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the philosophy of acupuncture involves acupuncture points, the meridians on which these points are assumed to lie, and the energy (qi) that flows along these pathways. This energy is divided into two, yin and yang. Our body contains 12 energy meridians, with a total of 365 acupuncture points located along them. Disease arises as a result of imbalances between yin and yang energy. Acupuncture aims to restore balance to these two energies, believed to flow through the meridians, by stimulating them with special, disposable needles. Regulation of the body is essential for health. The fundamental principle of acupuncture therapy is to regulate and maintain energy balance.
It is a form of treatment performed by inserting very fine gold, steel, or silver needles through the skin at specific points, with the aim of eliminating pathology (pain, functional disorder) in the skin, tissues, and organs.
Analgesic (pain-relieving) Effect: The pain threshold is raised. It ensures healthier nourishment and blood supply to tissues and organs. These effects are achieved through the release of endorphins.
Sedative (calming) Effect: Achieved through the release of hormones and substances such as serotonin and endorphins in the brain.
Homeostatic Effect: By balancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, it improves kidney function, heart and respiratory function, sweat secretion, and the healthier functioning of the abdominal organs. It regulates the balance of numerous minerals and ions in our body, strengthens the immune system, and improves motor function.
In our clinic, we use ear (auricular) acupuncture as an acupuncture treatment method, in addition to neural therapy. We now know that acupuncture points are individual points on the fascia that surrounds the muscles and envelops the entire body, and that arteries, veins, nerves, and lymphatic vessels emerge from these very points. Neural therapy, applied to these anatomical structures, is the main treatment method used in our clinic to regulate the body through the nervous system.
