Let us now examine in detail the basic principles of homotoxicology. What is homotoxicology, and in what way does it differ from the conventional medical approach to the patient and disease?

Let us now examine in detail the basic principles of homotoxicology. What is homotoxicology, and in what way does it differ from the conventional medical approach to the patient and disease?

HOMO = HUMAN TOXICO = TOXIN LOGY = SCIENCE / RESEARCH

The term homotoxicology is derived from three words: "homo," meaning human in Greek, "toxico," meaning toxin or poison, and "logy," meaning science or study. In summary, we can describe homotoxicology as the study of the effects of toxins in humans.

Homotoxicology investigates the effects of homotoxins on the human organism. Homotoxicology forms a bridge between conventional medicine and complementary medicine.

In homotoxicology, we investigate the way homotoxins affect cell functions and, together with this, the functioning of the human organism. The intensity of the defense mechanism's reaction against homotoxins describes the clinical condition the patient is in. Symptoms are the expression of the body's effort to rid itself of toxins.

While, on the one hand, approaches toward homotoxicology applications are implemented in the clinic, on the other hand research into the mechanisms of action of these types of medicines continues. Homotoxicology is closely tied to conventional medicine, and the basis for its acceptance by "open-minded" conventional physicians lies in the fact that it can be explained through the molecular biological models of conventional medicine. On the other hand, and unlike conventional medicines, antihomotoxic medicines contain their active ingredients in micro doses and even nano doses, and are therefore not toxic.

Due to their few side effects and contraindications, the fact that they do not interact with other medicines, and their safety and efficacy, homotoxicology can be classified as a complementary "gentle" medicine. In this way, homotoxicology forms a bridge between conventional and complementary medicine. The term "bridge" evokes strong conventional diagnosis together with gentle, non-toxic complementary treatment.
