What Needs to Be Done to Strengthen the Immune System
Today, by the time we consume our food, a very large portion of the nutrients nature provides has already been lost. Foods that look very fresh and vibrant are presented to us carrying a heavy toxic load. Even though the food we eat hasn't lost its caloric value, because it has become poor in vitamins, minerals and trace elements, it increasingly suppresses our immune system. With this toxic burden our bodies are exposed to, our immune system weakens a little more with each passing day, leaving us unable to defend ourselves against attacks coming from outside and inside.
20-30 years ago, most of us consumed the produce we grew in our own gardens or fields. The food we ate was produce grown in its natural season. We didn't consume chickens ready to be slaughtered in twenty days, cucumbers that grew in a few days, tomatoes that ripened quickly, or ready-made foods that we now think of as if they've always been part of our lives.
ALARMING
The changes seen in our diet over the past twenty years are extremely alarming. Today, most 20-year-olds living in the city don't know which season fruits and vegetables grow in, or when foods ripen seasonally. I'd like to give a few examples of this. 20 years ago, we consumed more fruit and vegetables in season. Fast food consumption was not nearly as widespread. Half of the processed and packaged foods presented to us at our table today did not exist 10 years ago. Ten years ago, how many giant shopping malls stood before us like an invasion, growing at a dizzying rate? Ten years ago, how much of the food you consumed did you buy from supermarkets? Scientists studying these issues in developed countries predict that in 10-15 years, approximately 80% of the packaged foods sold in supermarkets will be foods that don't exist on the market today. It's observed that this trend is advancing at a dizzying pace due to genetic modification, changes in seeds, the excessive use of pesticides, and many other factors. The variety of food products on the market grows by the day, and foods whose names we didn't even know before are now finding their way onto our tables. This frenzy is constantly being fueled by TV and the press.
Today, when we turn on the TV at home, we're met with advertisements from the food industry. Extremely unhealthy products such as candy, snacks, carbonated drinks, cola, lemonade, fatty foods, milk and dairy products, and products that carry no nutritional value but are both high in calories and high in toxic load are presented to us as if they were a necessity. Instead of consuming fresh potatoes, an extremely healthy vegetable, we've been made to consume processed potatoes instead.
My recommendation:
The best way to protect against this — although it may seem expensive — is to place emphasis on organic and ecological nutrition, in order to build savings in our health account and strengthen our immune system.
What you need to do to strengthen the immune system:
-Smile and be happy.
-Stay away from stress.
-Don't neglect to get out into fresh air and walk.
-Prioritize quality sleep.
-Take alternating cold and hot baths.
-Get rid of excess weight.
-Keep the amount of fat you consume limited, and consume the right kind of fat.
-Don't neglect to get your daily protein needs.
-Emphasize fiber-rich foods for the healthy functioning of your intestines.
-Take a daily antioxidant.
-Make it a habit to consume fresh vegetables and fruit daily.
-Pay attention to your daily zinc intake.
-Take alternating hot and cold showers with the change of seasons.
-Drink enough water daily.
-Stay away from harmful substances.
-Reduce alcohol consumption.
-Quit smoking.
-Drink herbal teas.
-Eat raisins with their seeds.
-Stay away from electromagnetic environments.
-Try to relax with positive self-talk before sleep.
