• Don’t neglect skin detox — make use of steam baths, saunas, Turkish baths, and massage.

• Start your day with a glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon added.

• Choose organic foods grown in ecological farming environments.

• Avoid using medication (painkillers, antacids, gas relievers, etc.) unless truly necessary.

• Give up coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes.

• Drink at least 2-2.5 liters of water throughout the day.

• Reduce the number of meals.

• Make sure to consume five servings of vegetables and fruit every day.

• Don’t neglect regular physical activity.

• Take advantage of vegetable and fruit juice blends. Make sure these blends include carrot, turnip or beet, apple, papaya, melon, and kiwi.

• During your detox, drink about two cups of fennel or dandelion tea per day.

• At night before bed, add a teaspoon of fresh honey to a cup of warm water and sip it slowly. You’ll find it helps control nighttime hunger.

• Try to meet your animal protein needs through fish and natural animal products.

• Take regular alternating hot and cold showers.

• Be positive. Make sure to spend time with loved ones, in environments that make you laugh or smile.

• Set aside time to rest.

• Visit your friends and elders. Create opportunities to spend more time with your spouse and children.

• Don’t neglect having fun.

FOODS EFFECTIVE FOR DETOX

Fruits with detoxifying properties

Pineapple: Recommended for its abundant vitamin C content as well as bromelain, which supports skin and digestive detox.

Grapefruit: A favorite fruit of all detox regimens. It contains a high amount of vitamin C and fiber. Those taking cholesterol-lowering medication (statins) should not consume grapefruit juice at the same time as these medications.

Apricot and Peach: Among the best sources of beta-carotene, a powerful antioxidant. They also contain some flavonoids, plant fiber, potassium, and other minerals.

Orange: Rich in vitamin C, a very valuable antioxidant and detox vitamin. It contains plenty of fiber and flavonoids.

Apple: A source of lycopene, an extremely beneficial flavonoid, cholesterol-lowering pectin, and many vitamins.

Black grapes: A rich source of vitamins. Their seeds contain proanthocyanidin, a very valuable antioxidant.

Kiwi: A storehouse of vitamin C and minerals.

Vegetables with detoxifying properties

Cabbage-family vegetables (white and red cabbage, broccoli, turnip, mustard greens, red radish, beet, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower): Indispensable elements of detox regimens. They contain abundant antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that strengthen the detox system. These are vegetables rich in nutrients that cleanse the body of toxins and provide strengthening and supportive effects. They can be used raw, boiled, or ground into vegetable juice blends.

Carrot: Rich in beta-carotene, a very good antioxidant, and vitamin C. It is also a very powerful toxin cleanser.

Artichoke: A very beneficial supporter of the liver and a powerful toxin remover. It also shows a cholesterol-lowering effect.

Celery and Jerusalem Artichoke: A reliable antioxidant that is also good for the digestive system.

Garlic and Onion: Show immune-strengthening, cholesterol-lowering, and toxin-cleansing effects.
