Applying a Strict Fasting Regimen
To prepare the body for a strict fasting regimen and minimize the shock effect on the body, you should first eat raw vegetables and fruit for the first two days. During this regimen, you should drink at least 8 glasses of alkaline or ionized water, fresh fruit or vegetable juice, and 2-3 cups of herbal tea you prepare yourself (herbal or fruit teas) per day.
All fruit and vegetable juices should be diluted by about one-third. One part water should be mixed with three parts fruit or vegetable juice. Tomato and orange juice, and sweetened or additive-containing ready-made fruit and vegetable juices, should not be consumed. One of the best fruit juices is lemon juice. It's best to drink lemon juice mixed with warm or hot water. In addition, fresh apple, beet, cabbage, carrot, celery, and grape juices — known as excellent toxin removers and also referred to as "green juices" — are also very beneficial.
After a two-day fasting regimen consisting of fruit-vegetable juice, water, and herbal teas, raw vegetables and fruit should be eaten again for two days to prepare the body. If cooked foods are consumed immediately after the fasting regimen, not only will the desired results of the regimen be undermined, but since the stomach will have shrunk, digestive discomfort will appear from the very first day.
HERBS-PLANTS
We can list the herbal teas we recommend drinking during the fasting regimen as follows:
• Alfalfa (medicago sativa)
• Burdock (arctium lappa)
• Chamomile
• Dandelion flower
• Milk thistle
• St. John's Wort
• Hawthorn
• Artichoke
• Nettle
• Ginseng
• Green tea
• Red clover
• Rosehip tea
• Parsley juice
These teas are herbal teas that can be drunk to cleanse the blood and liver. However, we often recommend that people prone to hay fever and those allergic to ragweed (ambrosia, the plant that causes hay fever) not drink chamomile tea. To cleanse the spleen and get rid of harmful bacteria in the gut flora, a cocktail of cranberry juice, coneflower (echinacea) tea, and thyme tea can be drunk, and garlic capsules can be used. To calm the nerves and prevent nausea, mint-lemon tea is a good solution. In addition, orange blossom tea can also be drunk due to its calming effect.
RECOMMENDATIONS
• During this regimen, if the need to eat something arises, apple puree blended together with the peel can be eaten. However, fibrous foods should not be eaten during the regimen. Oat bran and flaxseed can be eaten together with the raw vegetables and fruit consumed before and after the regimen.
• Chewing gum should not be done during the regimen, as it stimulates digestion.
• If you are over 65 and taking supplements such as vitamins and minerals, you can continue taking these supplements.
• A cocktail that provides resistance against many diseases and helps harmonize metabolism: 3 carrots, 3 cabbage leaves, 2 celery stalks, 2 beets, 1 turnip, 200 g spinach, half a bunch of parsley, a quarter onion, and 2 cloves of garlic can be juiced in a solid juicer and drunk.
