Applying the strict dietary regimen (fasting)
To prepare the body for this regimen and allow it to have its shock effect, raw vegetables and fruit should be eaten for the first two days. Throughout this regimen, you should drink at least 8 glasses of alkaline water a day, along with fresh fruit and vegetable juice and 2-3 cups of herbal tea that you prepare yourself. All fruit and vegetable juices should be diluted to about 1/3 of their strength. Tomato juice, orange juice, and sweetened, additive-laden ready-made fruit and vegetable juices should not be drunk. One of the best fruit juices to prepare is lemon juice. The juice of one lemon should be mixed into warm/hot water and drunk. In addition, fresh apple, beet, cabbage, carrot, celery, and grape juices — known to be very good toxin eliminators — are also very beneficial. After the two-day fasting regimen of fruit and vegetable juice, water, and herbal teas, raw vegetables and fruit should again be eaten for two more days to prepare the body. If cooked food is consumed immediately after the fasting regimen, the desired results of the regimen will not be seen, and this will cause digestive discomfort starting from the very first day.
HERBS
The herbal teas we recommend drinking during the fasting regimen can be listed as follows: alfalfa (Medicago sativa), burdock (Arctium lappa), chamomile, dandelion (Taraxacum officinale), milk thistle (Silybum marianum), St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum), nettle (Urtica), ginseng, green tea, red clover (Trifolium pratense), and rosehip teas are herbal teas that can be drunk to cleanse the blood and liver. However, we generally recommend that those prone to hay fever and those allergic to ragweed (ambrosia — the plant that causes hay fever) avoid chamomile tea. To cleanse the spleen and rid the intestinal flora of harmful bacteria, a cocktail of cranberry juice, echinacea tea, and thyme tea can be drunk, or garlic capsules can be used. To calm the nerves and prevent nausea, mint-lemon tea is a good solution. Orange blossom tea can also be drunk for its calming effect.
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Along with these, if the need to eat something arises, apple purée blended with the skin on can be eaten. However, fiber-rich foods should not be eaten during the regimen. Oat bran and flaxseed can be consumed together with the raw vegetables and fruit eaten before and after the regimen. Wheat bran should not be eaten, as it would irritate the colon.
• Chewing gum should be avoided during the regimen, as it stimulates digestion.
• A cocktail that helps build resistance against many diseases and supports metabolic balance: run 3 carrots, 3 cabbage leaves, 2 celery stalks, 2 beets, 1 turnip, 200 g spinach, half a bunch of parsley, a quarter of an onion, and 2 cloves of garlic through a solid fruit juicer and drink.
