For the common cold, patience first... Don't go to the doctor without trying these

Symptoms of the Common Cold

- Sneezing, runny nose, swelling of the mucous membranes

- Cough, hoarseness, sore throat and neck pain

- Headache, burning eyes

Biological substances effective against colds and cold-related illnesses:

Vitamin C: This vitamin strengthens the immune system and supports the body in its fight against invading foreign substances. The immune system's killer cells become more aggressive and mobile, and thanks to vitamin C, the amount of immunoglobulin—a tailor-made weapon against cold agents—also increases.

Important: When ascorbic acid is combined with a sufficient amount of bioflavonoids, it can increase its effect tenfold. The ideal bioflavonoid–vitamin C combination is found in broccoli, green cabbage, carrots, garlic, tomatoes, apricots, lemon, and onions. Green cabbage and broccoli are a secondary choice since they need to be cooked to be eaten, because a large amount of vitamin C is lost during cooking.

Vitamin E: like vitamin C, strengthens the immune system. This vitamin is found primarily in vegetable oils, whole grain products, pumpkin, asparagus, green cabbage, and avocado, but it is largely destroyed by heat and light.

PATIENCE ALONE

Recovery from a cold takes time. As a rule, it takes three to four days to get through the worst part. If there is still no sign of improvement after eight days, a doctor should be consulted to confirm the diagnosis.

DRINKING PLENTY OF FLUIDS, EATING LITTLE

In febrile illnesses and colds, the human nervous system fundamentally responds with a decrease in appetite and an increase in thirst. This perceptual strategy is very logical. Because the body must use all its strength to fight viruses or bacteria. Here, digesting heavy meals would only cause a large portion of that vital strength to be expended. The need for water fundamentally increases in infectious illnesses; the better the immune system's cells are replenished with water, the more mobile and aggressive they become.
