To be healthy, we should lead a life free of chronic stress. According to scientific views, the path to staying healthy is possible by avoiding the factors that create illness. Stress has a direct negative effect on our immune system. The immune system functions better under the influence of the parasympathetic nervous system, which controls the body's functions during rest and sleep. Stress, however, exerts its negative effects on the immune system by stimulating the sympathetic nervous system.

People who lack the ability to cope with stress pay the price with mental and physical ailments. The environment plays a fundamental role in the formation of stress. Everyone's tolerance for stress is different. Remember that when you exceed your personal stress threshold and remain in that state for an extended period, more serious mental and physical illnesses can emerge.

WE NEED A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF STRESS

How stress makes a person ill depends on how the events causing the stress are perceived and how the person tries to cope with these events. Some people perceive only small changes in the flow of daily life as stress, while others perceive heavily accumulated responsibilities as stress.

In fact, we need a certain amount of stress. Experiencing stress at certain levels keeps us more alert in life. It's not possible to stay away from stress entirely in our daily lives. What matters is not experiencing stress to a degree that harms our body and soul. For this reason, we should keep stress under control by not letting the stress we're exposed to accumulate, and by calming our body and mental state through physical activity.

Some recommendations for reducing stress:

-Set limits for your workday and stick to them.

-Take breaks from your work periodically during the day, and if possible, get some fresh air.

-Even a short walk will calm your nerves.

-Make exercise a routine.

-Be sure to engage in physical activity.

-Choose the stairs instead of the elevator.

-Be flexible, avoid tension and aggression.

-Regular physical activity will help you both be productive in your work and cope with stress.

-Make eating natural foods a habit.

-Stay away from refined sugar and caffeinated drinks.

-The moment you feel tense, listen to music that brings you peace.

-Develop your sense of humor.
