The Art of Healthy Living: Regulation Medicine and the Discovery of Inner Balance

From the Pen of Hüseyin Nazlıkul

Dear readers,

One of the most important lessons I have learned on my journey as a physician is recognizing that health is not merely the absence of disease, but rather a harmonious orchestra of the body, mind, and spirit working together. The World Health Organization (WHO) also defines health as "not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being." This comprehensive definition forms the foundation of the Regulation Medicine approach that I, too, place at the center of my practice.

Regulation Medicine: The Art of the Body's Self-Healing

Regulation medicine is based on the idea that every cell, organ, and system in our body functions in a state of continuous balance and harmony. Our body is much like an orchestra performing a perfect symphony. However, the stress brought on by modern life, environmental factors, poor eating habits, and past traumas can throw this orchestra out of tune, leading to imbalances. The goal of regulation medicine is to identify this disrupted balance and reactivate the body's ability to heal itself, adapt, and restore equilibrium. This means not merely suppressing symptoms, but delving into the root causes of disease to achieve lasting well-being.

Well-Being: Not Just a Physical, but a Psychological Process

A healthy life also includes a state of "well-being." Well-being refers to being in harmony with ourselves and our surroundings, and remaining in physical, mental, and spiritual balance. From a psychological perspective, well-being includes personal integrity, self-respect, the ability to adapt to the natural flow of life, and even a sense of unity with nature and the universe. This is a valuable quality of life that we continuously aspire to.

Let us not forget that living healthily means organizing our life processes in a conscious and purposeful way. In this process, our body's self-organizing capacity is of critical importance. As we continue to live a healthy life, we can experience health as a desired and valuable state.

A Holistic Perspective Through Regulation Medicine

Regulation medicine operates precisely from this holistic perspective. It views disease as a disruption of the body's inner balance and focuses on re-establishing that balance. This approach looks at disease not merely on the basis of symptoms, but in the context of the person's entire life processes, psychological state, and relationship with their environment.

In summary, living a healthy and balanced life comes down to understanding the incredible adaptive and self-healing potential of our body and using that potential correctly under the guidance of regulation medicine. This is not merely a treatment, but a philosophy of life.

I wish you healthy and balanced days.
